Work Environment

Through experience, I find that the integration of varying fields is an adept way to jump start the creative process. Approaching a problem from the start with multiple perspectives has the advantage of establishing an open mind.  The potential for all factors to be addressed is much greater when there is a collaborative, cognitive effort to do so. I believe that collaboration is key to determining a harmonious design solution.

Career & Firm Relationship

The success of the firm is of upmost importance to me because I feel that it represents the intentions of common values and goals.  I have an extremely hard working personality, and enjoy working in an environment that is challenging and engaging.  I hope to grow with the firm as opportunities arise, and earn more responsibilities with time.

Design Process

When working towards a design problem, I believe that a holistic approach is the most effective process to uncovering the best possible solution; viewing human scale interventions to master plan guidelines opens up new vantage points to how the project should be developed.  Through an in-depth analysis of the site conditions, a sensitve and creative concept can be revealed.  The design process should be cyclical; creating a dynamic relationship between the large scale contextual influences with the micro details and elements of the project.

Making an Impact

I feel strongly that architecture is a powerful tool that can impact the perspectives of society and influence people to take action and make changes in the world.  Our ethos, pathos, and logos are greatly effected by the places we spend the majority of our time.  I believe that these spaces should interact with the users, allowing the people and the building to transition with anticipated transformation.

Work Experience

Architectural Intern - Lighthouse Architecture

Aug. 2012 - June 2014

My responsibilities working as an intern architect varied between CAD drafting and project management. Gaining

experience at a small fi rm expanded my view of project scope and realities. The most valuable lessons I’ve

learned at this fi rm are how to juggle projects, deadlines, and client expectations in an organized process in

an efficient and effective manner.

Camp Couselor & Advisor - Fit & Fun Camp

July 2007 & July 2008

Working as a counselor for young children at a summer camp taught me how to communicate ideas in

terms that everyone can understand. It helped me push my abilities in stimulating communication between

individuals of different skill sets and backgrounds, and encourage them to work together. The most important

quality that I developed from this job was to manage my time and energy towards efforts that efficiently

solved problems, benefiting all parties.
